I have been a clinical Cardiologist since 1994 working both in the public and private sector and am now in Private practice at the North Shore Health Hub at North Shore Hospital. Although born in Australia I did my schooling in Spain and London and then spent 3 years doing my BA in Physiology at Oxford University, England. I finished my clinical studies at St.Thomas’ Hospital, London, and obtained my membership (MRCP) with the Royal College of Physicians in London before coming back to Australia to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP). My Cardiology training was completed at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and then I spent 2 years doing research at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney. I complemented this by completing the Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound, DDU.

I spent 10 years teaching and performing Coronary Angiography at Concord Hospital, and operate out of The Sydney Adventist Hospital, Wahroonga, where I also admit my non-surgical patients. I had my Private Cardiology Practice at Hunters Hill in Sydney for nearly 30 years before moving into the North Shore Health Hub in 2022.

Whilst I remain a general Clinical Cardiologist, I spend 2 days a week doing procedures in hospital. These include Angiography, Echocardiograms, Trans-oesophageal Echo’s and Pacemaker/Defibrillator implantations . I am highly focused on preventative Cardiology with a special interest in Exercise to reduce cardiac risk and improve well being and I am looking to expand this area of my practice.  I spent 16 years living in Spain, and am fluent in Spanish and have a small proportion of Spanish speaking patients.

My interests away from work remain related to exercise and fitness and I continue to be very active playing competitive sport, Surf Ski and Kayak racing and cycling, and of course spending as much time as I can with my Family. I have spent a lot of time Sailing and yachting, including multiple Hobart Races, and I am a Qualified RYA Ocean Yachtmaster, including Celestial Navigation, and an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor doing part time Instructing on Sydney Harbour.
